What is sex therapy?

People often collect learnings about sex and sexuality within a relatively small vacuum — perhaps from friends, pornography, online chat forums, religion, culture or their sexual partners. Sometimes this messaging can be packages with vague language and, either implicitly or explicitly, contains messages that harm us via shame or unrealistic expectations. For this reason, sex therapy is often done in an explorative, creative, and educational space.

Sexual difficulties may be all that you are looking to address during therapy or it may serve as a gateway to other aspects in your life. Talking about and exploring your experiences will help you get a better understanding of what is happening for you and the reasons behind it.

I have completed specialized academic and clinical training to help you with sexual concerns and I approach this work with a sex positive, non-judgemental, and compassionate mindset. I often involve homework exercises and readings to do by yourself or with your partner in your own time.
